I've Missed You...

Yes all of you, but mostly I have missed the ski hill! Trevor and I went skiing with my dad and sister yesterday and it felt so good to be up there again. I wanted to go last year but was barely pregnant and my husband convinced me it wasn't the best idea. So, first chance we got this year, we were taking it. However, I must say there wasn't very much snow. We were skiing over top of rocks and trees all day. But it was very worth it! There is no greater feeling than riding up the lift that first time each winter. I love it!!!! Although I am feeling it today... Gotta love the burn!

Seth 5 months old

My sister came and took some pictures of Seth for me. I must say for how grumpy he was, we got some pretty good ones. See for yourself...

Thanksgiving

I love the holidays and getting to spend time with family. My family has always been very big into traditions, and I love going home to enjoy them once again and passing them onto my children. On Thanksgiving we always go to my Grandma Gloria's for dinner. It's always a good time and fabulous company.

It's so fun to watch Keyton get to play with his cousins. He looks forward to it so much, and they are finally at an age where they get along for the most part.

Me and my sisters got to hang out and chat while waiting for the turkey to cook. Chris isn't in these cause she went shooting with the guys. She's more ambitious than the rest of us. And finally picture of my haircut, it's only taken me a month to post one.

Here are the kids helping Grandpa put up the Christmas yard decorations. Trayton was the only one who really helped.

We always go get my parents a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and do a little sledding.

I Got the Fever

Christmas Fever that is. I have been dying to put my tree up for weeks now and so, I finally did it. I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but I just tell people, "On Thanksgiving we can be thankful for Christmas." Right??? I must admit though, I am a little embarrassed, I try not to open my blinds so people won't see how ridiculous I am. So we just enjoy our Christmas decorations in private. I just love the Christmas season, and it always seems to go by way too fast. I can't wait until everyone gets their stuff put up and we can go drive around every night looking at Christmas lights. I love this time of year. The only thing that could make it better is some SNOW!

A New Outlet

I am starting a new blog about kids and the things they say. I seem to never be lacking in material, thanks to Keyton. Please check it out for a good laugh and maybe some life lessons. And please, share the funny things your kids say with me, so I can share them also. The website is http://kidismsetc.blogspot.com

This is what happens when you only blog once a month!

Wow! I am a blog slacker. things have been sooo crazy around our house this last month. Will I ever get used to having to take care of 2 kids and a house? I'm beginning to wonder. Lets see, a little update on us: Trevor has been really busy with work and army. He is in Officer Candidate School and has to go to Boise quite a bit. We will be glad once he commissions. I have been staying busy with sick kids and housework. Sounds so exciting doesn't it? Some of our neighborhood moms got together and do a preschool with our kids at different houses each week. I got to do this week and it is really fun coming up with ways to entertain 8 three and four year olds for 3 hrs. I actually really like doing it. I have also been getting to spend more time with my sister Tessa since she moved here. It has been really nice because we are so far apart in age, we haven't been that close, and since she moved here, we have gotten so much closer. I really love it and love her to death. And, the day before Halloween, I decided to cut my hair. I cut 18 inches off the back and donated it to locks of love. It has been so weird since I have had long hair for a very long time. But, I just needed a change. Keyton is enjoying going to preschool and learning how to write his alphabet. He is always so eager to learn something new. He can tell you what "metamorphosis" is and loves to show off to everyone explaining it to them. He just finished up playing soccer and what an adventure that was. He just kinda tagged along in the back of the group and didn't seem all that impressed with the sport. I have to tell one funny story about him though. The other day, we went to watch my nephew Colby wrestle in his first match. Keyton was very excited to get to watch "the fight". As Colby was wrestling, Keyton was cheering him on. As soon as Keyton realized that Colby was about to lose, he yelled as loud as he could, "Punch him Colby!" Everyone around us cracked up laughing. He was just trying to help his cousin out. :) And finally baby Seth, he is growing like a weed. I think he is a giant baby. He dwarfs about every other kid his age. He is figuring out how to army crawl and doesn't hold still for 2 seconds. He loves his jumper and he really loves his mommy. I don't mean to brag, but when I'm around he can't take his eyes off me. What can I say? I have that effect on people. Haha. Sorry this is so long, but it's more for me than you guys. I need to write all this stuff down. Our Halloween was pretty fun. We went to Old Town trick or treating and then to a trunk or treat with my friend Misty, then we came home and watched a movie and passed out candy to our trick or treaters. Trevor was in Boise so I got to do it all on my own. It was alot of work! Keyton was Captain Jack Sparrow and Seth was a skunk (thanks to Andrea) and he also had some cute skeleton pjs he wore once he couldn't take the skunk costume anymore. So I think that's all I have. Adios and thanks for reading

Keyton tagging along in the back

Did Imention he's quite the thumb sucker.

I swore I would never let this happen!

Trevor's behind the camera. I need some pics of him.

Pigs do fly....and they "flu" past our house

Yes, I believe we have the swine flu. Can I just say this has been the worst week of my life (physically and health wise). So, you get to hear me vent. Last Tuesday, I woke up and literally could not move my head off the pillow. Any tiny movement I made sent this shooting pain through my entire body. Trevor was at work, so I had to call my little sister and tell her the baby was awake and I couldn't go get him cuz I couldn't move. She came to my house and took care of me (poor girl) until Trevor got here cause I called his work and told him I needed some serious help. Apparently I have a bulging disc in my neck and I've heard of it but never imagined it could be so painful. I have been in full blown labor pushing a baby out and the pain was pretty comparable to that. Everytime I tried to move or even when I didn't there is was, making me scream and cry. It was intense. So I had just started feeling better from that on Sunday and Keyton had a fever that morning. It got worse throughout the day and by the end of the day I had one too. After going through aches, chills, cold sweats, my chest feeling like it is about to explode, losing my voice, coughing up a lung, an ear infection and a sinus infection... today is the first day I am feeling semi human. However, I am still coughing and raspy so I'm not sure this is over yet. Keyton had it for about 3 days and Seth has had an ear infection and is now losing his voice. Lets just say, it's been a long week at this house. Please pigs skip our house next time!

A wonderful weekend

It was my birthday yesterday and it was a wonderful day. I wanted to go to Gardner's village in Salt Lake, so we dropped Keyton off at my mom and dad's and left Friday morning with the baby. We went there and it was soooo nice to be able to relax and have an actual conversation with my husband. He was so nice to do whatever I wanted and just tagged along behind me. He is a good man. Then, we went to my Uncle's bakery and got my favorite mint brownies. Yum!!!! Then we went to dinner at the Olive Garden. We tried to get home early since Keyton was busy baking me a cake while we were gone. It was so nice to get a break. So I have to thank my husband for the fabulous day.

Is this normal????

So this is what Seth has been doing for the last 3 weeks. Mind you he is only barely 3 months old. Keyton didn't roll over until like 5 months. If he could figure out how to move his arms he would literally be crawling. I'm not ready for this already.

I haven't updated in a month! Wow that month went by fast. Life has been so busy. Keyton started soccer and he can't decide if he loves it or hates it. Mostly he just want to introduce himself to everyone on the other team and when they won't talk to him (because they are trying to play) he gets all upset. He is such MR. Social. He is also doing a little preschool and he loves the fact he is big enough to go to school. Seth turned 3 months yesterday and is getting so big. He is already over 14 lbs.! We are getting very excited for October to come... birthdays and Halloween are always fun right? Keyton is going to be Jack Sparrow (only because he will get to carry a sword) and seth is goin to be a skunk. So cute!!!

New Family Pics.

We decided to get some new family pictures to include our little one (even though babies just don't photograph all that well) So here are some. But I just have to tell a little story. We were going to BL to get them done so we went down the night before. At 11:00 that night I realized I had forgotten all my makeup and we were getting pics done at 8 that morning. So, I had to wear my mom's makeup, which, if you know my mom, is about 10 shades too dark for me. Talk about bad luck when it comes to family picture time. Here is a collage of some of my favorites.

Already???

I can't believe my baby is already a month old. Where does the time go. He has been such a good baby, and Keyton seems to have adjusted to him pretty well. I think he loves him a little too much, he can't leave him alone even when he's trying to sleep. Whenever anyone even looks at Seth, Keyton says, "he's cute huh?" We have been so busy lately, it has been crazy. And we are very glad to have Dad back. It was a little rough without him, but we survived. Here are some pics of things we have been up to lately. We went to grandma's, the lake, fishing, and bike riding. Good times. Hope everyone reading if having as much fun as we are.

Having Fun

We are really enjoying our little one and can't believe he's already been here 2 1/2 weeks. Trevor had to go to a military training on Friday and will be gone for 2 weeks. When he gets back, Seth will already be a month old. Time flies! Just thought I would post some pics of things going on lately. Keyton loves his "little buddy" and wants him to sleep with him at night.
This was on the 4th of July. Don' they look sweet????

Keyton at the parade.

Seth at the parade

Keyton during fireworks. (He had to wear his "mufflers" because they were too loud.)

Seth during the fireworks (are you seeing a pattern here?)

Watching Dad fly away at the airport. After the plane left the ground, then came the tears.

Things have been busy, but that's what keeps us going. I just have to say how grateful I am for a husband who is willing to serve our country and loves doing it. We love him for it and will definitely miss him while he is gone.

So Little Time

Holy cow! Do you ever have a spare moment with 2 kids? By the time we all get ready for the day, it's already noon. Then, if I'm not nursing the baby (which it seems like I'm doing nonstop) then I'm trying to give Keyton the attention that he is just dying for. Seems like it would be easy but, when your bottom hurts, your you know whats on top hurt, and your insides hurt, this just isn't so easy. However I must say I am recovering much faster with this one than I did with Keyton. Okay so I promised more pics and a story so I will try my best to keep it as short as possible so I don't bore you all to death. Since I wasn't thinning at all, I decided to get started which I was dreading. I went in to the hospital at 8:30 Tuesday night and they put the first Cytotec in (cytotec just thins your cervix and can start contractions) I got the next one at 1:30 and they wanted me to sleep but yeah right, I had way too much on my mind. By 4:30 I was feeling pretty strong contractions. They checked me about 5:30 and I was dilated to a 5. The nurse was like "are you sure you don't want an epidural" and I decided to get one. You forget how bad those contractions really hurt. The guy came in and got it in by 6:30 and by then I was dilated to a 9. I started pushing at 6:50 and had him at 7:01. Pretty quick labor again. And I must say I loved the epidural. I stopped the pain but I could still feel enough pressure to know when to push and could feel him come out. When he got out, he was blue and they got him breathing once they moved him to the table. All the blood vessels in his face were popped and he looked like one big bruise. Come to find out, he had the cord around his neck when he came out. I had wondered if he did and when I asked Trevor he said he couldn't tell cause it all happened so fast. But when we took him into the nursery after he was 2 days old, the nurse was like, "I remember you, the one with the cord around your neck." Thanks for letting us know doc! His bruising has gone away and now he is just getting the little baby acne. Poor kid. But he is still the cutest thing ever and I love him to pieces. I am really stingy with this one. I don't like to share him with anyone else. I think it's just because now I realize how fast the time goes and they aren't this little for very long. And now my baby is awake (I can hear him on the monitor) so I must get back to nursing. Wish me well!

Seth Arnold Reddish

He is finally here! It's late and I have got to get some sleep while he is but I thought I'd post a quick pic. Labor story and more pics to follow. This is him leaving the hospital. He was born Wednesday June 24 at 7:01 am. He weighed 7lbs. 14oz. and was 21 inches long.

Come and Gone

My due date has come and gone... and still no baby. This little guy is driving me crazy. I have wanted so bad to go on my own and he is just not wanting to co-operate. Do you think that's a bad sign already???? So my Dr. said, "are you ready to throw in the towel?" and I had to say yes. So, they are inducing me on Tuesday night. We better have a baby here by Wednesday morning. I am dreading being induced again and hope that it goes better than last time. I envy all you women who go early. It sucks to be 9 1/2 months pregnant!

Still Pregnant

For anyone who is wondering... yes I am still pregnant and getting a little fed up with it. I have swore all along that I will not get started, but will this kid come any other way??????? Another stubborn boy. All I don't need!

Piece of Quiet

After another long day of pregnancy I finally get some peace and quiet. It was so funny today, I was sitting on the couch with my feet propped up to help with my ankles and feet that are the size of balloons by noon each day now (I'm not bitter or anything) and Keyton comes in and says, "Mom do you need a piece of quiet?" I started laughing and said "no I'm okay." Then he got a big grin on his face and said, " do you need a piece of loud?" I quickly told him no I didn't need that either! So from now on I think I'm going to refer to it as a piece of quiet and to be honest in this household it's usually on a small piece of quiet that I get.
Although I am getting a little tired of a big belly and swollen ankles, I'm not really sure I'm ready to have a baby either. Which is harder?? I'm not sure.

Busy Times

Finally we have had some nice weather and it has been much needed. We have been so busy the last couple weeks and I thought I would post some pics of our happenings. We have been dying to get out camping and thought we would take a quick trip up to Scout Mt. However, the road was still closed so we went out by the reservoir at a fun little campground that had a playground which Keyton loved.

This was right after I had pushed Keyton too high on the swing and he belly flopped out of the swing. Luckily he still has a smile on his face and he still loves me.
We also got to see some huge fish right off the dock which was exciting for Keyton. Then this weekend, my side of the family was up to see Harlee's dance recital and Keyton's last tee ball game. Keyton had quite the fan club for his last game. He was quite the show off for all of them..

He did so good and got 2 really good hits off the pitcher. I had to post this video of his hit but for some reason the color is all messed up.

Keyton's most favorite thing at his games is getting to slide home. You can't see it perfectly but it's the only one I got.

Each player got a cute trophy afte the game and Keyton just knew that his team was the "champions"

Then Saturday afternoon, Trevor's whole side of the family came up to see our Aunt Sherri and Sue. Keyton loves them soooo much. We went to dinner and the park together and Keyton enjoyed playing with his cousins.

So after seeing every single person in our family this weekend, and not having one minute to rest I think it is safe to say we were exhausted. Or at least I was. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I love how close both of our families are. And one more pic I had to post that cracked me up. This is the one Keyton took of himself. He looks like a confused child. I can just hear him saying "how does this thing work?" Classic. (sorry for such a long post. Hope you enjoyed as much as I did)

Happy Mothers Day

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried..
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much...
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay..
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom .

May you always be overwhelmed by the Grace of God rather than by the cares of life
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there.

Picture Tag

I got tagged! Here's my picture named: Driving Time

Okay, so the actual picture I found was of Keyton running around the backyard chasing his girl cousins butt naked. I decided that was not an appropriate one to post so I had to go to my next folder. This is what Keyton likes to do when we are riding in the car. He will look at magazines all the way to Grandmas' houses. I think it's so cute. So here's what you do:

1. Go to your documents/pictures

2. Go to your sixth file

3. Go to your sixth picture

4. Post it and blog it

5. Tag six people to do the same

6. Name your picture

I tag: Andrea, Randee, Tessa, Sari, Chris, and Tricia but only if you want to!
